Engineering & Interdisciplinary Sciences Complex
Completed 5 weeks ahead of schedule and below budget, because of OCMI’s “open office” environment and collaborative design-build philosophy.
OCMI’s team led the design and construction delivery of the new Engineering & Interdisciplinary Sciences complex at San Diego State University. Completed five weeks ahead of schedule and below budget, the new, $90 million EIS Complex includes 11,500SF of the most advanced teaching labs with state-of-the-art scientific and industrial machines and collaborative and flexible research space to accommodate a range of engineering and science programs at SDSU.
From Day One, OCMI handled the development and management of the RFQ/RFP and design/build team selection process through design, plan approvals and into construction, closeout, and warranty administration.
OCMI encouraged and led team collaboration, achievable through the open office environment in the field, as well as an array of frequent and purposeful strategic meetings.
