A new vertical elementary school benefits from OCMI’s commitment to measuring risks and accounting for cost-effective processes.

Working with the project’s General Contractor, Whiting-Turner Contracting, OCMI’s team provided scheduling services for Arlington Public Schools’ latest elementary school. Our solutions encompassed the development of the baseline schedule, monthly updates to the baseline, and additional services that included cost-loading the baseline schedule, resource-loading the baseline schedule, and monthly cost/cash-loading updates.

The new 752-seat Y-shaped elementary school encompassed approximately 110,000 GSF, including two underground parking floors and four above-ground floors to accommodate students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. The new school included a full-sized gymnasium, stage, dining commons, kitchen, and administrative areas. The school was designed to be net-zero energy ready and to achieve LEED Silver or greater certification.

The project was on track to be completed before the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
