Since 2012 OCMI, a DVBE firm, has provided on-call cost estimating services for landside projects at the Port of Long Beach. The Port is the second busiest seaport in the United States, moving more than $100B worth of cargo each year. OCMI has estimated more than $350M in construction, and our services included estimates all levels of design from concept through construction documents. Projects include upgrades, maintenance, and repairs of critical infrastructure, utilities, and facilities serving the Port and its associated Sewer Lift Station.

OCMI also provides Job Order Contract (JOC) auditing services for various Port projects. Our team reviews contractor proposals utilizing Gordian Cloud, develops the scope of work for JOC proposals, and performs take-offs and estimates for individual line items to reduce risk and ensure accuracy. We provide detailed quantity take-offs, line item adjustments, and new line item suggestions to expedite the review process prior to Notice to Proceed.

OCMI provides a rapid three to four-day turnaround for JOC reviews. Our services are ongoing and the Port has renewed our contract annually since award due to the quality of our work.
