Cost Estimating and Construction Scheduling for a New Commercial Transportation Hub at US-Mexico Border

OCMI provided a full suite of cost estimating and scheduling services to TSK ARCHITECTS to support the master plan for a new standalone land port of entry in Douglas, Arizona, to process only Commercially Owned Vehicles (COV). The preliminary concept design and associated budget for the secure site was used to procure a design-build contractor to construct 200,000 SF of facilities.

OCMI’s deliverables included multiple design milestone deliverables, estimating for sustainability features, and flood mitigation improvements. OCMI’s team also provided a master schedule to the team for review.

During Phase 2, OCMI’s team prepared a 50% submittal in Uniformat utilizing the GSA Cost Workbook with three design concepts developed by the architect. Once the preferred concept was selected, the team updated estimates at the 90% and 100% milestones. Phase 3 involved the Preliminary Concept Design Submittal with associated estimates. Additionally, OCMI provided scheduling services related to construction NTP and durations.
