Expanding the Healthcare Client Experience with a New Director of Cost Management
OCMI, Inc. announces the addition of Grant Gutenberg to its leadership team as the Senior Director of Cost Management. With over 20 years of construction experience, including extensive work in HCAI and hospital and clinic construction, Grant’s expertise will significantly bolster OCMI’s capabilities in the healthcare market sector.
Grant’s arrival marks a strategic development for OCMI’s team of 165 employees, enhancing the firm’s reputation as a premier consultancy in preconstruction and construction services. He will deliver cost estimating, scheduling, and project management to medical clients nationwide.
Grant will focus on expanding OCMI’s healthcare project portfolio, working with prestigious clients such as the US Department of Veterans Affairs, Culinary Health, PeaceHealth, and the University of California medical system.
“I strive to be a good listener, understand the client and team members’ perspectives, and provide the best service and recommendations possible,” Grant stated.
In his new role, Grant aims to drive sustainable growth in key markets by focusing on staff development, training, and enhanced standards of process. He plans to:
- Evaluate and improve OCMI’s internal QA/QC procedures for healthcare projects.
- Work with the team to ensure stronger consistency in products and services across OCMI’s 12 offices.
- Support with strategic technical estimating initiatives.
Grant’s extensive experience will be invaluable in staying in tune with healthcare market factors. His expertise in utilizing historical and forecasted data to build reliable estimates and schedules ensures that owners receive accurate pricing on bid day. Additionally, he excels in negotiating and reconciling costs during design-build phases and ensuring compliance with HCAI standards. By identifying risks early in the planning stages, Grant helps mitigate project challenges efficiently.
Grant’s proven record of accomplishment in supporting healthcare owners with accurate cost management over the past 15 years will enable clients to bid confidently, knowing they have a seasoned expert on their side.
