OCMI provided independent cost estimating services on the $6.7 million, 14,700 SF Southern Nevada Mobility Training Center. As part of our cost control solutions, we facilitated and led cost reconciliations with the contractor to validate the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), and we reviewed change orders throughout construction.

The Center is a new state-of-the-art facility that serves the local community with mobility training, paratransit certification and blindness skills training. The Center includes simulated areas with working buses, transit shelter, roads, sidewalks and various types of surfaces.

Also, the Center is home to Angela’s House, the only blindness skills training facility in Nevada, which teaches clients daily living skills; orientation and mobility, technology, personal care, communication, advocacy, coping and adjustment, and Braille.
