OCMI, a California DVBE, develops cost estimates for cemetery site in Irvine, CA
OCMI Irvine’s work continues for the high-profile California state-built and operated Veterans Memorial Park and Cemetery in Irvine. In June 2024, the cemetery received approval from the planning commission for the Anaheim Hills location. Over the last three years, OCMI has supported Huitt Zollars in developing estimates to support their draft concept plans to secure an approved location. Three potential sites within the city were studied. The veteran’s cemetery will use about half of an undeveloped 283-acre property in Gypsum Canyon, with the first phase costing approximately $126M. Donated by Orange County, the proposed site will include both a public cemetery and a Veterans’ cemetery. At full build-out, the cemetery will have room for more than 210,000 burials. As a Disabled Veteran Business (DVBE), OCMI is proud to participate in planning and developing Orange County’s first veterans’ cemetery, which will honor the commitment of those who have served our nation.
