Employee Spotlight:
Andre Ibarra

Exceptional people build a great business; as a service-based consultancy, our people are our brand. OCMI continues our monthly series, highlighting individuals within our firm who impact clients, projects, and fellow employees daily. This month, we feature Andre Ibarra, Construction Manager in our Las Vegas office, who provides construction management services to Clark County School District (CCSD) on multiple projects, helping with design, constructability, and selecting the best contractor to complete the work. “Being born and raised in Las Vegas and attending schools in CCSD motivates me to provide great assistance to the facilities. Helping remodel the school’s culinary kitchen so the kids have an opportunity to learn real-life skills or upgrading their theater seating so they are more attentive to what is happening on the stage instead of the broken chairs they are sitting on is a great inspiration.” Follow below to learn more about Andre!

“What inspired me to join the OCMI team was the opportunity for growth and advancement.”

Q: What do you think makes you unique as a team member?

A: What I believe makes me a unique team member is my project engineer and superintendent experience with general contractors. I was on the office side and the field side. It gave me a broader understanding of what needs to be done to complete a project.

Q: Tell us something about your professional development journey.

A: My professional development journey had me working 60, 70, 80, 90, 100-hour weeks but I always loved what I did. Being in the construction industry is extremely rewarding by having a tangible product you can see and feel at the end of the day.

Q: What are some of your favorite local spots to visit?

A: I don’t have a local spot but every Friday my wife and a few friends always go to a new restaurant to try something different, and it being Vegas there are hundreds of restaurants ranging from mom-and-pop shops to restaurants that are
all over the country.

Q: Who are some of your biggest influences?

A: I have many influences that I take a piece from, from celebrity influences like Arnold Schwarzenegger to the first person I called my mentor, Jens Langhans, who was a superintendent at R&O Construction while I worked there.
